Working under the Manager of Quality Assurance, this person is responsible for coordinating all activities related to Document Control, including the management of procedures, forms, excel sheets, etc. The Document Control Specialist will work to maintain our Document Control software, while providing guidance and support to all departments with any issues regarding Document Control.


Essential Duties

Quality Assurance

  • Responsible for maintaining all controlled documentation at LivWell. This includes, but is not limited to procedures, forms, logs, etc. related to quality, safety, regulatory requirements, cultivation, processing, retail, QMS, etc.
  • Develop and maintain lines of communication between QA and other management teams to ensure that all are kept informed of any documentation issues and/or important changes in documentation.
  • Be the point of contact for all documentation needs. Maintain Document Revision Requests and assist departments in the creation and/or revision of their controlled documents.
  • Organize all documentation, such as, SOPs, Forms, Logs, Training Modules, etc., as needed for all departments.
  • Ensure all documents are being sufficiently reviewed on a routine basis by the relevant departments, per the document review schedule.
  • Provide assistance to each department in the creation of SOPs, Forms, Training Modules, etc. as needed, to ensure all departments have clear, concise, up-to-date documented processes.
  • Maintain Document Control through the use of our QMS Software.


  • Operate within company policies and guidelines established in the quality and planning process (i.e. Safety, Quality Policy, regulatory requirements, QMS/GMP/GACP/HACCP programs, customer specifications, HR policies, etc.).
  • Responsible for informing management of issues and gaining approval of the QA Manager for any exceptions to policies in place, regarding Document Control.
  • Be available to help in any company audits by providing access to controlled documentation in a timely manner.





  • Utilize our Document Control software and systems to ensure the most current revision of each document is readily available to all applicable employees within each department.
  • Ensure that the employees involved in the document control process have the resources they need to create/revise documents.
  • Responsible for maintaining all controlled documents per our Document Control System, via Google Team Drives, Adobe DC Pro, and our QMS software.


Other Duties

  • Willingness to grow with the company as new locations and/or departments are introduced to the document control process.
  • Willingness to provide support with Quality Management System software implementation and training.
  • Other duties as assigned.




  • Works under the direct supervision of the Manager of Quality Assurance.


Job Qualifications


Work Experience

  • 1 – 3 years experience in a Quality Assurance and/or Document Control position required
  • Quality experience in a food, medical device, or pharmaceutical, etc. production or manufacturing environment
  • 1 – 3 years experience with Document Control, such as creating/revising, approving, and releasing documents in accordance with a formal document control system required
  • Working experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Google Drive, and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.) required
  • Experience using a licensed Quality Management System software strongly preferred with ability to learn a new software if needed
  • Experience working in an ISO or GMP regulated environment strongly preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required



  • High school diploma required

Working Conditions

  • Able to use a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Able to move about a typical office.
  • Able to work remotely while maintaining productivity if asked to do so.
  • Regular and on-time attendance.
  • Hours may exceed 40 hrs.
  • Occasional travel by air, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required.
