Purpose

 

The MI MIP Analytics Advanced Data Technician position is responsible for a variety of duties on the Analytics Team. The focus of the MI MIP Analytics Advanced Data Technician is to ensure proper reporting of production and processing information in METRC, Counter Point and our internal systems. In addition, the MI MIP Analytics Advanced Data Technician is responsible for verifying the accuracy of data entered by MI MIP Analytics Team and other MIP departments and will be assigned various reporting duties as needed. The MI MIP Analytics Advanced Data Technician is responsible for training new team members. This position requires a high attention to detail and an intermediate working knowledge of Google Sheets and Excel. The position provides regular and timely communication with Analytics, Production, Processing, Order Fulfillment and MIPS management as well as team members within those departments. The MI MIP Analytics Advanced Data Technician is expected to operate under the highest standards of compliance and professionalism.



Essential Duties

 

Data Entry and Systems

  • Ensure the proper creation and adjustments of packages in METRC/Counterpoint/Internal Data Systems(sheets) for production and processing purposes.
  • METRC searches, product verification & investigations.
  • Providing feedback to Analytics team regarding common data errors found and suggestions for process improvement.
  • Assist as a content expert when refining Michigan MIPS Analytics specific SOPs.
  • Perform Counterpoint, METRC and Google Sheets data entry for MIPS products. Including package combinations, package conversions, creating new items, creating strains, and accepting transfers/manifests.
  • Assignment of production batch tags for product ready for testing.
  • Ensure that workflow and work procedures are documented, and that appropriate controls and audits are in place to ensure data and processing integrity.
  • Validate data provided from MIPS Production Teams.

 

Compliance and Auditing

    • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations.
    • Ensure that workflow and work procedures are documented, and that appropriate controls and audit are in place to ensure data and processing integrity.
  • Schedule and perform digital audits of MI MIP Analytics teams’ work to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist in physical audits of products as needed.

 

Reporting

  • Run reports in METRC, and Counter Point in relation to on hand inventory, distribution rates and sales.
  • Search internal systems on a wide range of data including but not limited to packages, labor statistics, trim production rates, testing results, etc.
  • Accurately compile and scrub data to report on a wide range of activities in multiple departments as assigned. 

 

Training

  • Responsible for the initial training of new hires under.
  • Scheduling of cross training between different Data Technician roles.

 

Other Duties 

  • Coverage in other areas of Analytics.
  • Occasional coverage/assistance for data entry in Production, Processing and/or Order Fulfillment.

 

Supervision

  • Works under the direct supervision of the MIP Analytics Manager, also takes direction from the Grow Analytics Manager & MIP Analytics Supervisor.
  • This position does not supervise others.

 

Job Qualifications

 

Work Experience

  • One to three years of data entry experience required.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Google Sheets and/or Excel required.
  • One year of experience working in METRC preferred.
  • Prior experience working within Counterpoint or similar inventory tracking systems preferred.
  • Data analysis experience preferred. 
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and adherence to FIFO.
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment laws relating to key areas of responsibility. 
  • Must be able to secure appropriate work credentials from the Colorado Department of Labor Marijuana Enforcement Division.

 

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Working Conditions 

 

  • Able to use a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Able to move about a typical office, manufacturing, warehouse, or retail environment.
  • Able to perform general office managerial and administrative activities.
  • Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Regular and on-time attendance.
  • Hours regularly exceed 40 hours per week.
  • Occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required.
