Summary

 

This position specifically Manages and supervises the packaging of all infused products within the MIP. The Packaging Manager is in charge of organizing the product that is to be packaged and allocating the appropriate amount of staff to complete this task on a daily basis to prevent stock out of a certain product at retail or within the MIP. The Manager is to maintain equipment, plan, and schedule maintenance on the packaging equipment. The Packaging manager is to maintain inventory of supplies used to package up product for Retail and to communicate these packaging supply needs to the purchasing department. The packaging manager is to maintain and ensure compliance of packaged product, maintain staff, and communicate issues to Senior Manager of MIPs.

 

Job Description:
● Ensure inventory levels of product are met to prevent stock out within MIP and retail.
● Inquire and research about potential packaging innovations and equipment to automate current processes.
● Maintain packaging production line from final product to ready product.
● Manage ordering of packaging supply inventory for Packaging department within MIP.
● Work with Senior Manager, Compliance, and Marketing to determine most effective and financially responsible packaging for new products
● Maintain and update labels as necessary within MIP for all packaged product to comply with ongoing changes by MED.
● Manage a team of 20 employees to package edibles and concentrates.
● Properly schedule and allocate labor as needed due to production and staffing needs.
● Work with MIPs Inventory Specialist to maintain FIFO of product that is to be packaged and to accompany retail’s needs.
● Responsible for evaluating retail and wholesale orders to maintain inventory to accommodate increase in demand.
● Must have open communication with other departments within MIP that are responsible for producing product that is to be packaged, this includes Compliance, Kitchen, and Extractions.
● Ability to work and schedule staff for overtime as needed to meet demand.

 


Job Duties:
● Manage packaging procurement, production and packaging line for the Marijuana Infused Product Division, which includes edibles and concentrates.
● Work closely with all departments within MIPS, Marketing, Purchasing, and Compliance to identify packaging structure required and source packaging.
● Manage packaging inventory for all product within the MIP Division
● Develop and manage line equipment setup and operation for the equipment.
● Establish and adjust team’s work scheduling to meet shipping demands
● Report metrics for packaging rates, inventory, and losses of product due to errors and mistakes.
● Responsible for conducting performance reviews of all packaging personnel
● Responsible for disciplining employees with Senior Manager of MIPs due to errors or issues with packaging personnel.
● Ensure packaging personnel training is complete and current on all items produced within MIP.
● Able to document and explain maintenance issues with packaging equipment to operations team or service technician.
● Provide supervision to keep equipment functioning efficiently and schedule for timely service.
● Evaluate MIPs Packaging log daily to maintain efficient packaging of product within MIP and adjust processes as needed to increase efficiency.

 

Requirements:
● Experience in packaging production
● Experience with managing a team of 20+ employees
● Ability to utilize and modify electronic documents for MIP
● Computer experience and knowledge
● High school degree required and college degree preferred
● Understanding of current requirements per MED for Infused Products produced within MIP
● Ability to forecast product needs by evaluating sales data
● 21 years of age.
● No felony convictions.
● Must successfully pass an extensive background check.
● Must be on time ready to work when scheduled.
● Must be able to successfully work in a team environment.
● Able to perform essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
● Willing and able to follow the CO Medical Marijuana Code as indicated in the State of CO revised statutes.
