Under the direction of the Research Scientist, the Tissue Culture Technician will be responsible for completing production oriented tasks within the R&D tissue culture program. These tasks involve basic laboratory processes and meeting productivity quotas. The Tissue Culture Technician is expected to perform these tasks efficiently, while not sacrificing quality or cleanliness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Follow direction from leadership to complete daily tasks, including but not limited to those listed below.
  • Apply sterile technique to propagate tissue culture material using tweezers and scalpel. 
  • Use tweezers and scalpel to root tissue culture material.
  • Log all tissue culture work and data as required.
  • Prepare tissue culture media and other necessary supplies.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning responsibilities.
  • Work efficiently.
  • Maintain a culture of professionalism.

Other Duties:

  • Other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to assisting with other R&D projects or in other departments to help with labor needs, such as farm work, harvesting, trimming, packaging, and cleaning as needed throughout the facility.


  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations.  
  • Must currently have a Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division Badge.
  • Comply with all company policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure.


  • Works under the direct supervision of the Research Scientist.
  • This position is not responsible for supervision of other employees, but may be asked to train or assist other employees.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Trimming and/or production experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Knowledge of sterile technique is a plus, but not required.
  • Laboratory experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Deadline oriented with excellent time management skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work independently and self motivate.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Focussed and efficient.
  • Flexible and adaptable.


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Working Conditions

  • Able to use hand tools and computers for extended periods of time.
  • Able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Able to move about a typical office, laboratory, manufacturing, warehouse, or retail environment, including use of stairs.
  • Able to perform general office activities.
  • Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Regular and on-time attendance.
  • Hours occasionally exceed 40 hours per week.
  • Occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle, and the like within the region and to other locations as required.
