The Manager of Processing is responsible for the direction and management for the entirety of the Trim department, Cure department, and Packaging department.  This position is responsible for creating and maintaining a consistently compliant, safe, actively productive, and developmental environment for the Processing department to function at the highest efficiency.  The Manager of Processing will exemplify the highest level of effective leadership, communication, and professionalism to achieve the daily and weekly objective for the cultivation facility.  This role will be asked to maintain the production expectations, along with guiding the progressions of the department through process, technology, and equipment advancements. This role will support the General Manager of Operations to direct and manage the Processing department, while working in cohesion with the other departments of the company to achieve most effective results.

Essential Duties


Leadership Procedures & Tasks

  • Oversee and direct all aspects of the Processing department.
  • Assist with providing effective leadership to employees to ensure a complete understanding of and alignment to Delt’s vision, mission and values to maintain a positive work environment and a high level of morale.
  • Working with Cultivation facility leadership to provide most effective results from harvesting plants to the phase of preparing for shipment and exporting company products.  Directing and facilitating appropriate adjustments in plan changes to pivot the department most efficiently and safely.  Working in conjunction with, but not limited to, the General Manager of Operation, Production leadership, R&D leadership, Analytics leadership, MIPS leadership, Safety leadership, Security leadership, and Compliance leadership.
  • Achieve and participate in the coordination of practices and processes to evolve and maintain the department under GMP protocols.  Work closely with the Quality Assurance leadership to ensure commitment to the updating of practices.
  • Effectively analyze and direct the progress of the department productivity and execution utilizing collected data, evolving expectations, collaborating with relevant department leadership, and researching and developing processes and equipment.  Managing the department leadership to continuously evolve in productivity and accuracy towards the different tasks and objectives.
  • Responsible for the execution of proper training, annual reviews, and employee engagement exercises for the Processing department.
  • Managing and supporting the department towards staff planning, hiring, onboarding, transferring, promoting, demoting, and termination as necessary to achieve professional, compliant, safe, and production results.
  • This role is responsible for the training, guidance, and supervision of the usage and maintenance of the facility work areas, equipment, and supplies.
  • This role will be responsible for the management of supervision and the enforcement through discipline and coaching of the department to consistently follow all company SOPs and policies along with following all state and city regulations.  This includes the proper communication and training to ensure employees are notified for updates and feedback of policies and protocols.
  • Appropriately manage and delegate the department scheduling.  Responsible for for the management of employee scheduling concerns, 
  • Work closely with the General Manager of Operation to develop and manage projects.  This includes directing and coordinating the project scope, the resources required, assessing and creating a budget towards the successful achievement and completion of the project.
  • Work collaboratively with all Delt’s employees and business partners.  Bring any and all safety, security, and plant health and product quality concerns forward through the proper channels including and not limited to the Facilities leadership, Safety leadership, Compliance leadership, Security leadership, and/or General Manager of Operations.
  • Executing and following through on all documentation relevant to the Processing department to keep staff’s iSolved data update promptly, including, time card, job update, and salary update. 
  • Ensure there is proper instructed direction and training towards the usage of inventory systems, reporting, analyzing, and inputting data that is relevant for the department.  Responsible for preparing guidance and development to the department to continuously follow city and state regulations and company SOPs.
  • Plan and direct the constant supervision of Processing department employees to ensure all work is being done properly and efficiently, in accordance with our SOPs.
  • Communicate, coordinate, and delegate the facilitation of instruction to ensure the consistent completion of daily objectives along with instilling the progressions into the department utilizing the departmental leaders within the Processing department to be achieved.  Provide them with the tools and resources they need to have the departments perform their tasks.
  • Clear understanding of workflow throughout the company.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the General Manager of Operation.


Workspace and Material Maintenance

  • Direction and management towards processes of sanitizing, organizing, maintenance, and troubleshooting equipment, workspace, and supplies to maintain proper organization of the Processing department areas.
  • Communicate and work with the leadership of Facilities and Safety to ensure proper practices and use of equipment and supplies to maintain workspace and materials.
  • Enact and govern protocols through participation, practice, training, guiding, and disciplining accordingly to achieve.
  • Manage and communicate any noticeable environmental or product quality concerns to the General Manager of Operations.  Finding solutions to resolve and maintain best practices.
  • Ensuring that sufficient resources for the Processing department are available.  Management and coordination of supplies with the Purchasing department.
  • Direct and support to associates with a safe, well maintained, and organized work area.


Compliance and Reporting 


  • Direct and delegate the managing and guidance to have the department follow all instructed state and federal compliance regulations.  Creating, updating, and implementing the department SOPs, and following through to communicate, train, and coach employees accordingly.


  • Oversee and manage the organizing and securing of all METRC tagging and product flow.
  • Manage, coach, and discipline any improper action of compliance regulations.
  • Manage the updating and tracking of all required information in the Processing logs and spreadsheets daily.  Managing the training and direction towards inventory tracking systems.
  • Managing and coordinating the instructed procedures will maintain compliance and safety.  Any compliance or safety mistake or error created must be addressed, reported, and resolved.  Communication with appropriate leadership to ensure resolution.
  • Working with the Analytics department to plan for sorting, packaging, and order fulfillment with accuracy and efficiency.


  • Works under the direct supervision of the General Manager of Operations.
  • Direct, manage, delegate, supervise, and discipline the Processing department.  

Job Requirement

  • This position is expected to direct and manage the employees of the Processing department to perform duties at a highly productive and efficient pace, consistently.
  • This position is expected to be available as needed to adherir to the responsibilities within and throughout the job description.
  • To apply for a new position, employees must have served within this position for at least one year before submitting the Grow Transfer Request form to the direct supervisor.

Working Conditions 

  • Able to use a computer and/or hand tools while sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
  • Able to move about a typical office, manufacturing and warehouse environment.
  • Able to kneel, bend, reach, rotate, and stoop on an intermittent to regular basis daily.
  • Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Consistent on-time attendance for all scheduled shifts.  Prepared for over 40+ hour work weeks within this position, regularly.
  • Occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required.

Job Qualifications


Work Experience

  • At least one year experience in a leadership position to apply.  Must be in good standing for the last six months at least to apply. 
  • Five years of work experience in a related industry or work environment preferred.
  • Three years of leadership experience in a related industry or work environment preferred.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced production environment required. 
  • Demonstrates ability to consistently exceed productivity and performance requirements. Shows the capability to handle multiple tasks at once under tight deadlines.  Capability to deliver and lead a team to achieve highly productive results.
  • Demonstrates high attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates professional and respectful demeanor towards others.  Demonstrates respectful verbal and written communication capability. 
  • Knowledge and background in cannabis cultivation preferred.
  • Ability to create, utilize, and modify electronic documents.
  • Able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. 
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws relating to key areas of responsibility.
  • Must be able to secure appropriate work credentials from the State of Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs Marijuana Regulatory Agency Enforcement Division.



  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Management training and education preferred.
  • Secondary education or equivalent preferred.
